Pine Grove Baptist Church Celebrates Pastoral Anniversary

Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Asheville recently celebrated the 31st pastoral anniversary of Pastor Leslie A. Hines.
Born in Polk County, NC, Pastor Hines grew up and attended public schools in Asheville. He then enrolled at Shaw University, studying under Dr. Charles R. Mosley and the late Dr. Nilous M. Avery, and graduated with honors.
Rev. Hines is a member of Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher under the direction of the late pastor Rev. Benjamin F. Brewer. He was installed as pastor of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church on November 10, 1985 and has served continuously since. He is a member of the Mud Creek Baptist Association District Three, the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, and the Baptist Ministers Union.
Pastor Hines and his wife, Grace, have seven children and numerous grandchildren; he is also employed with Lowes. Known as a man who gladly goes to help wherever he is needed, he has dedicated his life to his first love: preaching the gospel of God and pastoring his church family.
