Waste Land offers stirring evidence of the transformative power of art and the alchemy of the human spirit.

Renowned artist Vik Muniz embarks on one of the most inspired collaborations of his career.

For the film Waste Land, Muniz joined creative forces with Brazilian garbage pickers who mine treasure from the trash heaps of Rio de Janeiro’s Jardim Gramacho landfill to create art.

Screening takes place Saturday & Sunday, January 31 & February 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. Free with membership or Asheville Art Museum admission. Held in conjunction with X, Y + Z: Dimensions in Sculpture.
