WNCAP joins the international community in mourning all those who we have lost while looking with hope towards a future free from HIV.

In collaboration with the Asheville Art Museum, WNCAP is proud to partner with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art on World AIDS Day, Thursday, December 1, from 12 noon to 9 p.m. at 2 South Pack Square in downtown Asheville.

Day With(out) Art is an international day of action and mourning held each year on World AIDS Day. The new film, Being & Belonging, will be shown on a continuous loop in the Museum’s multipurpose space on Level 1. The film features seven short videos centering the emotional reality of living with HIV today.

This year’s theme for World AIDS Day is “Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV.” It encourages people to unite globally to eliminate the disparities and inequities that create barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and access to HIV care.

WNCAP is dedicated to this effort as evidenced by our mission: to provide equitable access to care and reduce harm from HIV, Hepatitis C, and drug use. All services are free and confidential.

Posters located throughout the atrium share HIV-related statistics. Each of the five posters contains QR codes that link to audio recordings of related conversations between HIV+ individuals living in Western North Carolina.

Special thanks to the artists, those who shared their stories, the Asheville Art Museum, and Visual AIDS. The exhibit will run through December 4, 2022. View the exhibit from December 2–4, 2022 between the hours of 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
