Shantelle Simpson Named CEO of Appalachian Mountain Community Health Centers

The Board of Directors of Appalachian Mountain Community Health Centers (AMCHC) in Asheville, NC, has appointed Shantelle Simpson, MSN, RN, President & Chief Executive Officer of the organization, effective September 6, 2021.

Ms. Simpson is originally from Louisville, KY. She holds a Masters in Nursing and Science from Western Governors University and is currently completing the doctoral program at Spalding University where she will obtain her Doctorates in Education & Leadership.

Ms. Simpson is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the Healthcare Executive Network. Ms. Simpson comes to Appalachian Mountain Community Health Centers with more than ten years of progressively responsible operations leadership in federally qualified health centers.

Ms. Simpson recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Park DuValle Community Health Center, the first and oldest Federally Qualified Health Center in the state of Kentucky. There she was responsible for implementing the center’s first school-based health program, improving clinical quality outcomes resulting in national awards, and creating collaborative partnerships with area foundations, resulting in a strong health center fundraising program.
