NAMI
NAMI has compiled a list of resources for coping with stresses and potential behavioral health service interruptions during COVID 19 and isolation and quarantine. Visit www.nami.org.
Sunrise Community for Recovery and Wellness
All individual, group activities, classes and trainings have been suspended for a minimum of two weeks. All classes and trainings will be rescheduled and emails will go out to all those registered.
- The Recovery Community Center phone (828) 552-3858 will still be active and answered by staff during usual business hours. They are prepared with the most up to date and newest resources available for the community.
- Recovery group meetings will be offered via Zoom video conference call. The schedule is at www.facebook.com/Sunriseinasheville.
- Our 24/7 Peer Support Warm line will continue to be staffed. Calls and texts can be made to (828) 280-2554.
- The Blair Clark Respite Center is not currently open for admissions.
VAYA Health Care Behavioral Health Services
VAYA is maintaining a list of Behavioral Health Services, including which providers are open, their hours, and services. It also includes information on walk-in and crisis services.

- Behavioral Health Crisis Center: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for walk-ins
- Peer Living Room: You can come to the C3356 Lower Level Entrance from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. without an appointment to talk to someone and receive support.
Syringe Services
Western North Carolina AIDS Project – syringe exchange bags to go Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Buncombe County Health and Human Services Syringe Services Program fixed site location is temporarily closed.
Sunrise Community: Naloxone and hygiene supply distribution: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 12 noon at AHope; Fridays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kairos West; and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Haywood St. Congregation.
Peer Support for SSP participants is available by calling (828) 747-9483 Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Steady Collective’s fixed site locations closed. Steady is mobile: Tuesdays 1:30-4 p.m. in front of Firestorm Books & Coop; Wednesdays 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon near Haywood Street Congregation; Fridays 10 a.m. to 12 noon outside AHOPE Day Center.
Detox
JFK ADATC is accepting individuals for both men and women’s units. They have a reduced census to allow for social distancing and possible isolation.
Neil Dobbins Center is open to new patients, for alcohol and benzodiazepine detox only. They have a reduced census to allow for social distancing.
