Living Healthy Over the Holidays
The Land of Sky Regional Council is recruiting participants for the next Living Healthy Workshop in Asheville, which will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Dec. 1-Jan. 12 (except Dec. 22), at Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville, 372 Depot Street, #10.
In this highly interactive workshop (also known as the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program), trained leaders work with participants to practice self-management skills for common issues and chronic conditions like diabetes, depression, arthritis, chronic pain, and heart disease. It does not conflict with prescribed treatments or therapies, but enhances current health education programs and treatment regimens.
The workshop empowers individuals in choosing what steps they want to take toward better health and is particularly useful for individuals with multiple health conditions.
This six-week workshop will teach participants how to:
- Achieve and maintain a healthy weight
- Manage medications
- Reduce pain and fatigue
- Breathe better
- Enjoy more restful sleep
- Build confidence
- Communicate effectively with your doctor
- Solve problems, set goals, and live life the way you want to!
