No Man’s Land
Pre-Show Conversation With Women of Adventure
Join MountainTrue for an engaging conversation with incredible female athletes and conservationists who will inspire you to get outside and do your thing!
This event will feature keynote speaker Mirna Valerio, The Mirnavator, one of the featured athletes in the No Man’s Land film program, along with local outdoor adventurers, Shanna Endless Powell, mountain biker and owner of EndlessBikeCo., Laura Boggess, accomplished rock climber and scholar who coordinates the Environmental Studies program at Mars Hill University, Julie White, lifelong cyclist and Trails Strategy Coordinator for the Pisgah Area SORBA, and Anna Zanetti, North Carolina Director for Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and avid rock climber.
All of these women love connecting to the natural world and have a passion for sharing their enthusiasm with others. They climb, they cycle, they run marathons—and they have stories to tell! This pre-show conversation is designed to be highly interactive, providing attendees with the opportunity to hear these athletes’ inspiring stories and to talk with them as the conversation moves around the room.
We’ll all be sharing about the places we love to play, the importance of protecting those places for future generations, and exploring the unique challenges that face women adventurers as they seek to push their limits. All ages and genders are welcome and the price of admission covers your first beer!
Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. at New Belgium Brewing, 21 Craven Street in Asheville. Tickets, $15 – $30, are available at mountaintrue.org.
