Pope Leo XIV Hosts a Rave

Energy, faith, and light filled the night in front of St. Elizabeth Cathedral.

An unprecedented blend of spirituality and modernity to celebrate Archbishop Bernard Bober’s 75th birthday in Slovakia.

The Vatican enlisted Padre Guilherme, a priest who’s also a professional electronic music producer, to lead an unforgettable celebration.

The Pope threw a rave with a priest as the DJ!

In a video shared by Padre Guilherme, widely known as the “DJ priest,” the Pope blessed the gathered crowd via a projection onto the St. Elisabeth Cathedral walls in Košice, Slovakia on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The pontiff urged young people to “share your faith,” and concluded with a resounding “Amen” right as the beat dropped. The event featured electronic dance music mixed with spiritual themes, reflecting the Pope’s efforts to engage younger generations.

The spiritual electronic show connected hundreds of people through music, joy, and divine atmosphere. As the evening transitioned into a party, lasers, spotlights, and projection mapping illuminated the cathedral.

Padre Guilherme, a Portuguese priest turned EDM-DJ, said his goal was to bring diverse backgrounds together through music and faith.

Full Message Delivered by Pope Leo at the Rave

“Dear friends, young and old, gathered here tonight in the shadow of this magnificent cathedral, I greet you with joy and hope. We come together not just to celebrate a milestone in the life of Archbishop Bernard Bober, but to celebrate the living spirit of our faith that moves with the rhythm of the world around us.

Faith is not a relic of the past; it is a vibrant, living force that calls us to unity, love, and renewal. Just as music unites us in dance, so too does faith unite us in purpose and community. Let this night be a testament that the Church embraces all forms of expression that bring us closer to God and to one another.

I encourage each of you to carry this spirit beyond these walls — to share your faith boldly and joyfully in your daily lives. Let your light shine in the world, and may the harmony of this night inspire you to build bridges of understanding and peace.

May God bless you all, and may Archbishop Bober’s example of dedication and love continue to guide us. Amen.”
