Newly Elected Baptist Ministers Union Officers Installed

Installation services were held for new officers of the Baptist Ministers’ Union of Asheville and Surrounding Counties.

The installation ceremony of new officers was held following the installation sermon under the direction of Reverend James E. Roberts. Bishop Lionel Smith, Pastor of the Greater New Zion Baptist Church, was the guest preacher, accompanied by the Greater New Zion Choir and Congregation.

The service was held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 4 p.m. at the WNC Baptist Fellowship Church, 240 Haywood Street in Asheville. Dr. L.C. Ray, host pastor, was honored with the title of President Emeritus-Elect.

For the past 34 years Reverend Dr. Ray served as BMU President; upon his retirement, the churches of the Baptist Union offered Dr. Ray a special love and retirement gift for his long years of sacrificial service and love to BMU without compensation. Gifts are still being accepted.
