St. James A.M.E. Church Annual Trustee Day
Sunday, March 13 – Celebrating the church’s annual Trustee Day at 3:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Martin, Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. The choir will minister in music. Annual Mary J. Sloan Women’s Missionary Day
Sunday, March 20 – The theme is “Transforming Lives through Witness and Service.” The guest speaker will be Minister Audrey Rice, whose home church is St. Paul’s Calvary United Church of God in Union, NJ. Church of God in Christ – District Meeting
March 26 through April 1, 2016 – The Church of God in Christ, Land of the Sky District, will hold its district meeting March 26 through April 1, 2016, nightly at 7 p.m. at Sycamore Temple COGIC, 11 N. Ann Street in Asheville. District Superintendent Samuel L. Payne, Jr, will preside. Mother Jacqueline G. Shade is the district missionary.
Tried Stone Baptist Church Easter Celebration
Sunday, March 27 – Annual Easter Celebration with recitations, music, and special events begins at 6 p.m. in the Church Sanctuary. Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church, 100 Carroll Ave., Asheville.
Tried Stone Baptist Church Pastor’s 17th Anniversary
Sunday, April 10 – Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the 17th Church Anniversary of Pastor Alfred Blount. The 11 a.m. morning speaker will be Dr. Danny Johnson, retired pastor of Thankful Baptist Church of Johnson City, TN. Tried Stone Church Choir will render the music. At the 4 p.m. service the guest speaker will be Elder Dr. Joe B. Maddox. He will be joined by the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Choir and Congregation of Knoxville, TN.

Sunday, April 10 – Minister Latravius D. Geter will preach his initial trial sermon at Sycamore Temple Church of God In Christ, 11 N. Ann St. in Asheville, at 4 p.m. Superintendent S. L. Payne is the pastor. A native of Asheville, Minister Geter is the son of Mary P. Geter and the late Tony D. Gist. A 2006 graduate of T. C. Roberson High School, Minister Geter attended Benedict College in Columbia, SC. He is a member of St. Mark Church of God In Christ of Marion, NC, where Elder James E. Stokley is the pastor.
