Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church Honors Graduates

Education is Power! So stressed the members of Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church of Asheville as they set aside a time to honor their 2015 graduates on Sunday, June 14, 2015.
The graduating members included preschool, high school, and college students. During the ceremony the graduates were given gifts as well as scholarships. An inspiring speech was given to the high school students as they venture off to college.
Six high school graduates were recognized: Kelsey Redfern, Ariel Edington, Dominique Jamerson, Ilka Garbrielle Ervin, Promyss Watley, and Nashayla Petty. Among our college students were two who obtained Bachelor’s degrees: Kasheena Green, Bachelors of Science in Nursing; Taylor Feimster, a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.
Three graduates received Master’s degrees. Teresa Jenkins, received her Master’s in Human Resource Management and a Professional Human Resource Management Certificate (PHR). Donyele Proctor graduated with distinction from Capella University with a 4.0 GPA, and received her Master’s in Human Resource Management. Tried Stone pastor, Elder Alfred E. Blount received his Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Gardner Webb University.
Among those recognized were Ariel Edington, a graduate from T.C. Roberson High School with a 4.2 GPA, and Ilka Ervin who graduated as valedictorian with a 4.2 GPA from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. High School. Kasheena Green graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lees-McRae College. Taylor Feimster is now interning with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department as an Investigator Intern.
