Williams Commissioned as Chaplain-Minister

Ms. Robbie J. Williams, an ordained deacon, was recognized and authorized a Commissioned Chaplain-Minister in a special commissioning service held at the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Asheville on Thursday, September 15, 2011. Dr. John H. Grant was the host pastor, and Dr. Nilous M. Avery of Raleigh, NC, was special guest speaker.

Ms. Williams earned a BS from Shaw University in Raleigh and completed a
curriculum of theological studies through the Mars Hill College Access
Program. She received a diploma of Completion for Religious Studies and
is continuing her education toward graduate work.

 

A charter member of the WNC Baptist Fellowship Church, Ms. Williams
bases her life’s mission on Acts 20:24: “My life is worth nothing,
unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord.”

Ms. Williams is co-founder and Executive Director of One Youth At A
Time, Inc., an at-risk youth program founded in 1994. She has received
many leadership and professional awards for her work reaching out to and
teaching children, youth, and young adults through programs that
increase academic successes, self discipline and self-esteem.

She has also given much to the building of the Kingdom of God through
Christian education ministries on both the local and state level.
