Taking Care of the Community

In the middle of this pandemic, there are so many local heroes taking care of the community.

Covid-19 has struck the fear into so many of our elders for good reason. But instead of leaving them alone in fear, BeLoved Asheville has shown elders that we have their backs and that they are not alone. In the middle of the crisis, we are inspired by those who have helped distribute food and care packages to their neighbors across Asheville.

BeLoved Asheville is proud to be about the work of resourcing/equipping natural leaders and re-knitting neighborhoods back together. We hope to be like these leaders when we grow up — 90 years old and caring so much for our community that we are this committed. These volunteers show us what the future looks like—a future where we give each other hope, inspire each other, and care for each other so that everyone has what they need for the fullness of life.

The moral of this story is that love is way better than money or power. BeLoved Asheville shows us that community is our greatest gift.
