Staff Reports
This month we honor the achievements, the creativity, the courage and tenacity of women. We celebrate the contributions of women in all walks of life, including the risk-takers and entrepreneurs.
North Carolina is home to more than 225,000 women-owned businesses. This is an increase of almost 30 percent since 2000. SBA is committed to helping women start and grow viable businesses right here at home.
SBA Offers:
• The SBA Office of Women’s Business Ownership, online at www.sba.gov
• Three Women’s Business Centers, in Fayetteville, Durham, and Asheville
• A dedicated Women Business Owner Representative (WBOR) to provide guidance
We are pleased to announce the new Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) program to help existing women business owners in 83 substantially underrepresented industries obtain greater access to federal contracts. Visit www.sba.gov/wosb for details.
