Moore to Keynote UNC Asheville Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Week

Diversity educator Eddie Moore Jr. will present “21st Century Leadership and Diversity: Are We Ready?” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium.

Moore’s presentation will focus on issues of diversity, race relations, community, stereotypes, and self-esteem, and pose constructive questions about personal beliefs, prejudices, and biases. The event is free and open to the public.

Moore is director of diversity at the Bush School in Seattle and has
provided training sessions, presentations, keynotes, and workshops on
topics of diversity, privilege, and oppression to students of various
ages around the country. He has also served as director of intercultural
life at Central College in Pella, Iowa and at Cornell College in Mt.
Vernon, Iowa. Moore holds a Ph.D. in educational policy and leadership
studies from the University of Iowa.

Moore’s presentation will keynote UNC Asheville’s week-long
celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. from January 17-21 with service
learning events, panel presentations, film screenings, art exhibitions,
and distinguished speakers.
