New Mountain Mobility Bus Route in North Buncombe

Mountain Mobility has expanded public transportation bus services to the north Buncombe County area. The route, which will be known as the “North Buncombe Trailblazer,” will feature an early morning and late afternoon commuter run that provides citizens with access to and from downtown Asheville. This run is structured to arrive and depart in conjunction with regular working hours.

The Mountain Mobility bus will link to Asheville Transit buses
(Route 2) at the Manor Ridge Apartments bus stop located on Elkmont
Road in Woodfin. The bus is lift-equipped to serve persons with
disabilities and will be equipped with a bike rack.

The service area for the North Buncombe Trailblazer includes:
Brookdale Road, Reems Creek Rd., Dogwood Dr., Flat Creek Rd., Clarks
Chapel Rd., Old Gibbs Rd., New Stock Rd., Aiken Rd., Northview Mobile
Home Park, Weaverville Hwy., Manor Ridge Apt., Newbridge Shopping
Center, Woodfin Ingles, Weaver Blvd., Weaverville Super Wal-Mart, and
Lowe’s Shopping Center.

Routes will connect at times that allow passengers to transfer
to and from connecting Asheville Transit routes. The route will operate
Monday through Friday. The passenger fare will be 50 cents per boarding.
