League of Women Voters Hosts Candidate Programs
The League of Women Voters is hosting two meet-and-greet opportunities in April to allow voters an opportunity to meet candidates before the May 6 primary. Candidates for Buncombe County Board of Commissioners will be at the Jewish Community Center, 236 Charlotte Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. on April 14. Each candidate will have a separate table to display literature and talk one-on-one with voters. Other tables will have League materials, voter registration information, and League T-shirts available.
On April 28, from 7
to 9 p.m., the Asheville/Buncombe and Henderson County Leagues are
jointly presenting a program for the primary candidates for the NC
Court of Appeals and the US Congressional seat, District 11. The forum
will be at Calvary Episcopal Church, 2840 Hendersonville Road in
Fletcher.
Beginning at 7 p.m., each judicial candidate who attends will give a
five-minute presentation. Questions from the audience will be submitted
in writing if time permits. At 7:45 p.m. the candidates for the
District 11 Congressional seat will participate in a moderated forum.
Some candidates from distant parts of the state may not attend.
