The 2022 Black Census
Black people hold the key to unlocking the promise and potential of our communities.
We know that if we want solutions to the challenges we face, we must go to the source and speak directly with our people about their experiences, concerns, and dreams.
More than 30,000 Black people from across the country participated in the 2018 Black Census Project, providing their views, political beliefs, concerns, and aspirations. This year, the Black Futures Lab has launched the second Black Census Project.
This survey will capture a more accurate picture of who we are and what we care about. The Black Census asks us to identify key issues in our communities and what we think needs to be done to address those issues, so that our lives can change for the better.
The survey collects your thoughts and ideas about generational oppression, mass incarceration, police violence, and inequities in healthcare and economic access.
“Black people have always played a role in unlocking the promise of an America that has not yet been realized, and if there was ever a time to tap into that power–it’s now.” ~ Alicia Garza, Principal, Black Futures Lab
The Black census does not collect or share any of your personal information. Your thoughts and ideas on current topics are shared with Black-led community-based organizations and elected officials and legislators who make decisions about our communities.
What issues are impacting you and your community? What do you want done about it? Take the survey and share your voice in less than 10 minutes. Take the Black Census today and let your voice be heard! Go to blackcensus.org.
