Becky, Karen, & Maggie Can’t Control Their Outrage
White women have weaponized their fear and discomfort in otherwise peaceful situations for centuries.
A family in Oakland, Calif. attempted to enjoy a sunny day at Lake Merritt and decided to bring their grill along for a cookout. Everything was going fine until a white woman, dubbed BBQ Becky, accused them of breaking park rules and decided to call the police.
When Allison Ettel, or “PermitPatty,” called the police on a black girl for illegally selling water, she hid around a corner to avoid being on camera, then lied to say that she never called the police, though records refuted her claim.
Linda Krakora, who called the cops on 12-year-old Reggie Fields for mowing a lawn, said, “We have always been told by the police if we feel threatened, ‘Don’t confront these people. Just tell us.’”
The knee-jerk reactions of the white women in these examples demonstrate a reliance upon the power of the state to carry out that which they cannot – to effectively “control” black people.
Policing black Americans is a long-standing, and ugly, American tradition
People like “BBQ Becky” are not new. They continue a long tradition that began in slavery. From the 1600s to 1865, white Americans watched Africans and African Americans, checked to see if they fit the description of specific fugitives from slavery, stopped, questioned and seized them — and got rewards for doing so.
Being black in America is already an exhausting task, and now we have to deal with white women policing our actions. These events are taking place everyday. You can get arrested for pulling a fire alarm, making fake bomb threats and making false claims of an alien invasion—why not a false police report that results in death? We should be pushing for prosecution against these callers just as much as the cops who pull the trigger.
Only when those who insist on policing African Americans as if they are fugitive slaves face real and consistent punishment for their behavior will this country have any chance of addressing the way slavery continues to shape daily life.
White Hampton Inn Employee Fired After Calling Police on Black Guests Who Were Using the Swimming Pool
In this episode of of White People Who Don’t Believe Black People Belong Anywhere, a Williamston, NC, Hampton Inn employee was fired for being yet another Karen on patrol and policing Black people while they try their absolute hardest to mind their own business and, in this case, enjoy themselves in the hotel’s swimming pool area.
USA Today reports that a white hotel employee called the police on a Black family who were guests at the hotel and was filmed questioning one of the family members and demanding she prove she and her children were staying at the hotel and allowed to use the pool.
In the Facebook Live video (www.facebook.com/missy.williamswright/videos/3497117800321121/) posted by the Black woman, identified as Anita Williams-Wright, the Hampton Inn employee can be seen accompanied by two police officers demanding Williams-Wright prove she belongs there. The questioning continued even after she showed them her room key.
“I feel it’s discrimination. I have a room here,” Williams-Wright said in the video. “This lady here is discriminating [against] me. I have a key to get in and I can show you that it works…I have a room here. I don’t have to give my name. I didn’t break the law.”
Williams-Wright refused to give the police her information because she “didn’t commit a crime” and therefore wasn’t required to give them shit. She did, however, explain to the officers that there were “two [Caucasian] people” at the pool who were not questioned and that the employee, “said to me, ‘Oh because it’s always people like you using the pool unauthorized.’ Who is people like me?”
On Monday, Shruti Gandhi Buckley, the Global Head of Hampton by Hilton, wrote in a statement, “Hampton by Hilton has zero tolerance for racism or discrimination of any kind. On Saturday, we were alerted to an online video of a guest incident at one of our franchise properties. We moved quickly to identify the hotel and the guest so that we could make contact and review the matter.”
Buckley said she contacted “the Williamston property on Sunday” and “learned that the team member is no longer employed at the hotel.”

White Woman Brutally Assaulted by Black Lives Matter Mask
A white woman was forced to call all the managers—the police, corporate headquarters and the actual manager of a Long Island, NY department store—after she was brutally assaulted by a Target employee’s Black Lives Matter mask.
This woman is too old to be a Karen. Everyone knows that Beckys go to racism graduate school and eventually become Karens, who generally range between the ages of 33 and 52. There is only one name befitting this crier of white tears who serves as an elder stateswoman of the Becky/Karen movement to make Targets great again: She is a Maggie.
Maggie was shopping at the Target in Selden, N.Y., on Thursday, June 25 when she spotted an employee, identified only as Tana, wearing a face mask with the words “Black Lives Matter” and a fist.
Tana had worn the mask to work for three weeks straight because Target requires all employees to wear a face mask. However, the company’s policy apparently doesn’t prevent its workers from wearing accessories that declare the value of Black lives. And, because Tana was parading political ideology all in Maggie’s face, Maggie couldn’t ignore Tana’s belligerent, pro-negro logo. Maggie started screaming that Tana’s mask was “racist against whites” until a security guard had to escort her out of the store.
Tana’s story: I’m a employee at a target location & while I was working I was confronted for the mask I was wearing it said “BLACK LIVES MATTER” with a picture of a fist next to it. She started by saying “you know all lives matter right?” I then agreed and said “all lives cant matter till black lives matter.” She then told me my mask offends her and that I needed to “take it the fuck off my face”. I told her “no that i am allowed to wear my mask & it’s my freedom of speech.”
It continues with her screaming through the store saying her “ancestors were in the holocaust and that I should educate myself because it’s worse the slavery.” Telling me “boo-hoo black lives suck”. I told her “Ma’am you are entitled to your opinion have a nice day”, she then continued with “it’s not a opinion it’s a fucking fact bitch” screaming vile hate. That I am “racist against white people and that the only reason everybody is doing this is because of Clint Floyd in the street.”
I then said louder but calmly, “his name is GEORGE FLOYD and this isn’t just the effect of one black man dying it’s the cause and effect of millions of black men, women and children dying without a second thought by the hands of police brutality.” Other staff then noticed and stepped in. My managers were then taking me away and security was then telling her to leave, that her business was no longer wanted for causing a disturbance and much more. Security then asked the women again to leave the store or else they will have to call the police. She then started screaming racist comments at the security guard saying “you want more police brutality to come?” My shift was ending a few minutes later, so I was leaving. My boyfriend was parked on the side of my job when I see the women recording herself saying she’s going back inside Target to record faces, etc. So I ran in before she could and I called for security. New Jersey Karen Calls Police on Black Neighbors for Building a Patio on Their Own Property
In Montclair, N.J., a white woman has been dubbed “Permit Karen” after she confronted her Black neighbors to question them about whether they had a permit to build a patio on their own property. This, of course, caused a heated argument between the Black husband and wife and the white woman who apparently suffers from the common Caucasian condition of being allergic to minding her own business. At some point during the argument, the white woman accuses the Black man of pushing her and she calls the police.
In a Facebook Live video, the Black neighbor, identified as Fareed Nassor Hayat, included a lengthy caption where he denies putting his hands on the woman and said all he did was ask her to leave.

“It has happened again,” Hayat wrote. “White entitlement and Black hate embodied in Susan who lives on Marion Road and works at the EPA, called the police to lodge a false report of assault against me when told to leave our property. Susan, aka ‘Permit Karen,’ came onto our property three times within thirty minutes to demand to know if we had the proper permit to install a stone patio in our backyard, on the other side of the fence of her yard. When asked if a permit was required by law, she said she didn’t know, but insisted we answer her questions and submit to her demands, or she would call the police to force us to stop improving our home.”
Hayat goes on to say that he and his wife did the research, consulted with their contractor and “verified when building and safety arrived” that they did not need a permit to build “a stone patio this size” on their property.

White woman pulls gun on Black women in Chipotle parking lot feud
A viral video shows a white woman outside of an Oakland County Chipotle restaurant in Michigan pulling a handgun on Black women during an altercation. The incident allegedly occurred after the white woman bumped into one of the Black women.
“Before I could walk into Chipotle, this woman was coming out, and I had moved out the way so she can walk out,” Makayla Green told Detroit News. “She bumped me, and I said, ‘Excuse you.’ And then she started cussing me out and saying things like I was invading her personal space.”
The woman who brandished the gun was arrested but later released.

White Woman Repeatedly Calls New Neighbors N-Word During Noise Complaint
A white woman in Adrian, Mich., was filmed dropping the n-bomb several times while shouting at her new neighbors for being noisy.
In the video posted to Twitter on Saturday by Bailey Jenkins, one of the new neighbors who recorded the racist rant, the woman, who has been identified as Jessica Evans, can be heard telling Jenkins she should record “her man” moving furniture around. Evans then threatens to call the police because she apparently believes moving furniture late at night is “illegal.”
Evans screams, “You just moved in. You all are n****rs makings a scene!” Here’s the video: twitter.com/i/status/1276870126026055681.
According to a now-deleted Facebook post made by Evans, she claimed the people she was screaming at weren’t Black, but that she uses the slur all the same.
“I’m going to find out where you work and you’re going to lose your job,” Jenkins says as Evans walks back to her house. Evans walks back up to the camera and responds, “I get paid by the government.”
Jenkins tells Slurry Susan that she “can’t say that word,” to which Evans replies, “Really, n****r? You’re a n****r, honey,” and “Do you think because you’re not brown you’re not a n****r?”
