Obamas Sign Netflix Deal

Former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama have signed a multi-year film and serial agreement with Netflix.

Under a proposed deal, the Obamas offer exclusive content that would be available only on the streaming service, which has nearly 125 million subscribers around the world.

Barack Obama said in a statement, “A simple pleasure in the public service of our time is to reach out to many fascinating people from all walks of life and help them share their experiences with more audiences. That’s why Michelle and I are excited to work with Netflix—we want to cultivate and nurture talented, inspiring, creative voices that promote greater understanding among people. We hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring, creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them share their stories with the entire world.”
