Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz spoke to nearly 400 media representatives at the Time Warner Cable Arena Tuesday June 5 as part of the media’s final walk-through before the Democratic Convention to be held there September 3-6, 2012. As many as 15,000 members of the media are expected to cover the event.

The walk-through was used as a means to address the logistical and technical concerns of the media. The media technical work center will be located at the Charlotte Convention Center, and dedicated light-rail trains will shuttle reporters between the Charlotte Convention Center and Time Warner Cable Arena.

Time Warner Cable Arena will be the center of most convention activity, but on the final night President Obama will accept the nomination for president in the Bank of America Stadium, where he will appear on a stage set up at the 50-yard line.

In addition to inspecting the Convention Center, the dedicated media center, and the Time Warner Cable Arena, media representatives were given a tour of the speedway infield and treated to a lap around the CMS track before leaving for the day.
