Inspiration from Niconda Garcia
Discussion with the writer and community advocate on Saturday, August 16, 2026.
Niconda Garcia shares an intimate portrait of her survival as a young Black woman in Asheville in her forthcoming book, Niconda Forever.
The Ethical Humanist Society of Asheville hosts a discussion with the writer and community advocate on Saturday, August 16, 2026, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The meeting takes place at the Friends Meeting House, 227 Edgewood Road in Asheville.
Niconda Forever features stories from a lifetime of building community, practicing radical self-love, advocating for her children, and speaking truth to power fighting oppression, confronting injustice and creating meaningful change.
The Ethical Humanist Society strives to promote ethical living and a more humane culture. We focus on actions, not beliefs. We celebrate life’s joys, support each other through sorrow, learn together, hear speakers who are both thought-provoking and action-provoking, and have fun. Monthly meetings are open to all.
