beloved toy drive flyerDr. Martin Luther King Jr. calls the place where there are no longer oppressed and oppressors “the beloved community.”

BeLoved Asheville believes that we gain love when we know we are loved and see others as equally loved. When we know we are loved, we gain the insight and energy needed to accept ourselves and grow in positive ways. We develop the compassion and creativity to make a difference in the world.

BeLoved Asheville is always thinking of our neighbors who struggle. They are moved to act together, to wear love on their sleeves and put that love into action. Can you help put a smile on the face of a local child this holiday season? This has been such a hard year for our children. Let’s fill their days with joy!

Host a Toy Drive

Connect with BeLoved Asheville for help planning your toy drive. Or, drop a new wrapped toy by their donation center located in Asheville at 15 Overbrook Place any day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Look for the table in the back parking lot where a volunteer will meet you to safely receive your donation. Mark your toy with a post-it note with the appropriate age range.

Thank you for making the season bright for our kids!

Adopt a Street Pantry

BeLoved Asheville is also offering compassionate, creative care in the midst of the cold and calamity for our friends who are without homes. Their Street Pantries give love and warmth when everything is closed. Located near where our friends live on the streets, pantries are in six locations throughout the city. Street Pantries are stocked with life-saving gear and necessities such as warm thick gloves, hothands, flashlights, masks, blankets, emergency blankets, and more.

Help BeLoved Asheville offer the most needed items to our friends on the street by adopting a Street Pantry. Sign up to fill one of six pantries at an interval that works for you (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). This is a great and safe way to volunteer. BeLoved will provide a list of items that are needed. Invite friends, neighbors, co-workers, and others to share items with you.

Go to www.belovedasheville.com for details on how to adopt a pantry.

To all who believe in the gift of humanity and are “forever thinking” of our neighbors, we see you and we love you.
