‘Successful Aging 2015,’ will be held at UNC Asheville in the Sherrill Center and Kimmel Arena, 227 Campus Dr. Asheville, on Tuesday, May 12th from 8:30 am-2:30 pm.

Successful Aging is a day-long event for older adults, caregivers and others who are interested in aging successfully. This year’s classes include Tai Chi, beer tasting, smart phone tips, moving meditation, speed dating, energy healing, reverse mortgages and expressive drawing. Presenters include the YMCA of WNC, the Yoga Wellness Center, Asheville Savings Bank, and Dragon Phoenix Tai Chi.

Council On Aging of Buncombe County has hosted Successful Aging for 14 years. Last year, over 150 people attended Successful Aging and the event raised $2,500 for Council On Aging of Buncombe County. “The event is a great way to keep attendees thinking and moving—important activities for aging healthfully. We hope by people participating they will learn more about Council On Aging and healthy programs throughout the community,” said Wendy Marsh, Executive Director for Council On Aging of Buncombe County.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Council on Aging of Buncombe County programs and services.
