Staff Reports

The Western North Carolina AIDS Project is seeking ambassadors for its annual Dining Out for Life event on Thursday, April 28. Ambassadors serve as “meet and greet” hosts at participating restaurants during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Each restaurant will donate 20% of its sales that day to support the mission of WNCAP.

The primary job of Ambassadors is inviting friends, co-workers, relatives, clients, and others to dine at their chosen restaurant on Thursday, April 28; they also distribute envelopes to patrons to make an additional donation to WNCAP and provide an opportunity to win several prizes as a way to thank diners for participating. Last year’s event raised $120,000 to support HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and outreach in 18 counties of WNC as well as client services for over 400 men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS in our community.

Those interested in volunteering as ambassadors can see currently
available restaurants at www.wncap.org/dofl/volunteer/; they should then
then email their top two restaurant choices to
[email protected]. A one-hour training session will be scheduled
for the last week of March to ensure that every volunteer has all the
information and tools needed to be a successful Dining Out for Life
Ambassador.
