Fostering Children One Youth at a Time

By Robbie Williams

Every child needs a stable environment that is safe and healthy for his or her physical, emotional and intellectual growth. Children don’t ask to be born into tough situations; they just figure out how to survive them.

There are approximately 250 children in foster care in Buncombe County. One Youth At A Time, Inc., and the Buncombe County Department of Social Services have joined together on a mission to support our children. The shared goal is to avoid placing children in group homes or far away from their siblings and to help reunify them with caring families.

More foster families are needed right here, right now, however. If
you want to make a difference in a child’s life, we urge you to join One
Youth At A Time and Buncombe County D.S.S., on this mission. We can’t
help these kids without the assistance of a caring community, loving
parents, dedicated volunteers, and mentors. Each child is special and is
indeed worth the investment.
