Labor Day Rally and March
Workers Over Billionaires
Monday, September 1, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Pack Square Park.
Join neighbors on Labor Day to show collective strength and resistance to the billionaire takeover of our country.
For centuries, the wealthy in this country have held on to power and wealth by pitting workers of all backgrounds against each other. They want us blaming each other instead of fighting back together.
Billionaires just passed the largest wealth giveaway in the history of the US. And in NC, elected officials in power want to fund tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations by cutting vital services like Medicaid, SNAP, housing vouchers, child care, and public education for working families and low-wealth people. These elected officials are literally robbing the poor to feed the already overfed rich.
In addition to putting money into billionaires’ pockets our government is putting more money than ever towards a domestic army of national guard and federal agents (homeland security/ICE). Under the fear-based call for “safety” our government is deploying armed forces all around the country to deport immigrants, intimidate communities, and suppress democratic protests. On top of this, coordinated efforts all across the country are dismantling democracy and repressing voting rights of youth, BIPOC communities, rural poor, and many more.
Join the Poor People’s Campaign on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, to stop the billionaire takeover not just through the ballot box or the courts. Together let’s build a bigger and stronger movement fighting for a country that is more fair, just, equitable, and free for all of us—and not just a chosen few.
We plan on gathering, listening to a few speakers, raising power through chanting, and then marching to demonstrate our collective power. We will be joining thousands of communities across the country taking a stand on Labor Day!
