Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced on Monday that she tested positive for coronavirus: “COVID-19 has literally hit home,” the mayor wrote at 5:45 p.m. “I have had NO symptoms and have tested positive.”
Bottoms said she and her family had been diligent about washing their hands and wearing masks. “It leaves me at a loss for words because I think it really speaks to how contagious this virus is and we’ve taken all the precautions that you can possibly take.”
“I have no idea when and where we were exposed,” she said. Bottoms said her husband and one of her children also tested positive for the disease.
Bottoms added that she had experienced very mild symptoms, comparing them to seasonal allergies.
