ART Operational Analysis Survey

ART ridership has decreased even as the city continues to grow.

A strong and accessible transit system is more important than ever.

The City of Asheville (COA) is conducting a Comprehensive Operational Analysis to improve transit.

The city is in the second phase of public engagement and would like your input on two different bus network concepts that have been developed.

As Asheville continues to grow, a strong and accessible transit system is more important than ever. The COA will:

  • Identify strategies to improve service reliability and frequency
  • Address barriers to transit access for underserved populations
  • Support future growth, development, and climate resilience
  • Incorporate lessons learned from Tropical Storm Helene
  • Ensure ART resources match the needs of today—and tomorrow

The two concepts presented in this survey are not recommendations. Instead, they are two very different concepts intended to help the City better understand what is important for the community and how to balance the different goals of each concept.

The survey is open to all Asheville residents, workers, and visitors, regardless of how often they use transit. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is an important part of shaping the draft network designs and helping the city understand what matters most to our community. The survey will be open until October 26, 2025.
