Asheville City Council Members Seated

On December 2, 2024, the City of Asheville ceremoniously seated two reelected council members, Kim Roney and Sage Turner, and newly elected council member Roberto L. “Bo” Hess.
Before the members were sworn in, Mayor Esther Manheimer presented a Resolution of Appreciation to outgoing council member and vice Mayor Sandra Kilgore.
Kilgore said, “I feel incredibly blessed to have been part of a dedicated team of employees, city staff and council members who have tirelessly served our Asheville community. While I may be stepping down from the council, my commitment to this community remains unshakable. Thank you for your support throughout this tenure. Let us all continue to come together for the future of Asheville.”
After words from Vice Mayor Kilgore, each individual took their oaths of office, administered by Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Alan Z. Thornburg, in City Council chambers.
During a brief organizational meeting, the Asheville City Council’s first act was to unanimously elect Antanette Mosley as Vice Mayor.
The newly seated City Council met at 5 p.m. on December 10, 2024.
