The City of Asheville is working with the Polco/National Citizen Survey company to find out how residents answer this question: How are we doing, as your City government?
The survey captures residents’ opinions on general governance and participation as well as specific issues such as the built environment, community engagement, recreation and wellness, the economy, safety and mobility.
Some residents who were randomly selected to participate in the survey were notified by mail in December. If you were among them, do not complete the online survey.
For all other residents, the survey is open at the following links:
The survey will be open through January 21, 2021. The survey will take about 17 minutes to complete. After it closes, results will be presented online in interactive charts and tables.
The city’s previous citizen survey was conducted in 2018, with results posted here along with results from 2015 and 2008.
What will the city do with the results? National Citizen Survey will compare and analyze the 2021 results with the 2018 results and compare metrics. As the city enters budget planning season for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, the results will help guide operational planning and help determine City Council’s prioritization of projects and allocation of resources.
