I am presently a candidate for City Council. In my experience as an Asheville real estate professional, I’ve found that in order to provide the very best service it is crucial that I put the needs of my clients first. Thus, keeping myself accessible, as well as being a good listener and communicator, are some of the skills I will demonstrate if given the opportunity to serve the community as a council member.

If elected, I look forward to working diligently to address many of the communities needs that seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

Two of the major issues we face are homelessness and affordable housing. Utilizing my thirty plus years of experience in the area, my hope is to bring fresh ideas and solutions to better combat the problem. It is a two-fold issue that needs to be addressed from different angles. Increasing the minimum wage plays a big role. Doing so would enable more buyers to qualify for homes and also provide them with more disposal income to maintain them.

I feel we spend too much time on the problems themselves, rather than the solutions. The platform I would put forth would focus heavily on developing solutions and taking action. In doing so, we will set the groundwork for community programs that are measurable. Result based initiatives that can be seen and felt build momentum, which is a necessity in moving forward.
