City of Asheville Co-Sponsor Support Proposals & Workshops

Workshops Friday, October 10 – Proposals Due Friday, October 17

The City of Asheville is committed to delivering an excellent quality of service to enhance the community’s quality of life. As part of this commitment, the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department has established a procedure to request co-sponsorship support for community events that provide a recreational, community-focused activity that the City does not currently provide to its residents.

City of Asheville outdoor special event co-sponsorship may include
the costs of in-kind services and support such as permit fees, weekend
inspection fees, park usage & shelter fees, barricades & cones
for street/parking closures, Asheville Police Department support,
Asheville Fire & Rescue (EMS) support, water hydrant access,
parking meter closures, and waste receptacles & collection services.

The Request for Proposal is open to all organizations and
individuals who wish to receive co-sponsorship support from the City of
Asheville for an event occurring between the dates of January 1, 2009
and June 30, 2010, and whose event meets the minimum eligibility
requirements outlined as attached.

To assist you with questions in completing the proposal form, we
have scheduled two workshops on Friday, October 10 to be held at the
1st floor conference room at the Public Works Building, 161 S.
Charlotte St., Asheville, NC 28801. The morning workshop will begin at
9 a.m. and the afternoon workshop will begin at 12 noon. We invite you
to join us for light refreshments and casual conversation regarding the
event application and proposal process. Attendance is optional and
registration is not required.

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, October 17. Proposals received after this date will not be considered.
