DDG Accuses Halle Bailey; Kimber Elayne Sprawl in Othello; Janet Jackson honored; who really shot Megan Thee Stallion?
A Look at Entertainment
by T.J. Moore –
In the aftermath of actress Halle Bailey’s filing for a restraining order against him, rapper and streamer DDG is now seeking one of his own, asking the courts to block Bailey from taking their son overseas.
DDG Accuses Ex Halle Bailey of Being “Psychological Risk” to Son Halo
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, DDG alleges that Bailey, 25, poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their son, Halo, and should be blocked from flying him to Italy.
The filing, submitted on June 4, claims that Bailey made plans to leave the country with their child for two months to film a movie, but DDG insisted the court should intervene. He argued that Bailey is not “mentally fit to care for herself or their child,” and he feared what might happen if she left the court’s jurisdiction.
In the filing, DDG outlined a series of incidents that support his allegations.
One incident allegedly occurred during Bailey’s pregnancy, when DDG claims she took his firearm and left the house without explanation, adds a report from People. He says that he later found Bailey outside holding the weapon, and she was “emotionally unwell, incoherent, and potentially suicidal.”
Another allegation involves a time DDG says that the actress considered aborting the pregnancy without informing him, but ultimately changed her mind.
A court hearing is scheduled to address DDG’s emergency motion and the ongoing custody arrangements.
New claims have surfaced in the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez case.
Kelsey’s Bodyguard Reveals She Shot Megan Thee Stallion not Tory Lanez
Bradley James, who worked as a driver and bodyguard for the femcee’s former friend Kelsey Harris, claims he heard something shocking during the trial. According to James, Harris allegedly told someone that she actually shot Megan, not Lanez.
While the new claim might change how people will perceive the case, it’s not clear if anything will happen legally. The court already decided that Lanez was guilty based on evidence and Megan’s story.
Megan and her lawyer, Alex Spiro, quickly responded to the new claims. Spiro told XXL Magazine that the case is already settled and not up for debate.
“Tory Lanez was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers, and his case was properly adjudicated through the court system. This is not a political matter, this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”
Theatre actress Kimber Elayne Sprawl has been breaking barriers on Broadway as Emilla in the Shakespeare classic Othello, but she’s not new to the stage at all. Elayne Sprawl previously starred in Wicked and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and Girl from the North Country, but her role in Othello is a dream come true, because she’s acting alongside Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Kimber Elayne Sprawl Interview
“It’s a dream to work opposite Denzel Washington,” she told MadameNoire.com. “Like most Black families, he grew up in our homes, you know, we were not going to see John Q, we were going to see the new Denzel movie. Before I even wanted to be an actor, he inspired me in many ways, just like being the GOAT and one of the first to do it. The fact that he’s my scene partner is still unreal in many ways. Often times, I’ll look at him and think “Wow, that is Denzel over there.” Then other times, it’s like I’m talking to an uncle. He’s so generous with all of his stories.”
Janet Jackson was honored recently with an award that celebrates her hit-making and chart dominance in the mid-1980s and ’90s. The American Music awards named her as a recipient of the Icon Award. She received the award during the show’s broadcast on Memorial Day, May 26.
