Building Bridges of Asheville Awards Two Need-Based Scholarships

Building Bridges is a community-based organization established in 1993 whose mission is to confront and overcome racism through open dialogue. Building Bridges is pleased to announce the first two recipients of the Building Bridges Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic school year.

The first recipient, Daniel Suber is a senior at Asheville High School. Daniel will attend the University of North Carolina at Asheville majoring in chemistry and is interested in a career in pharmacology. The other recipient is SaDonna Smith. She is a senior at AC Reynolds High School and plans on a career in physical therapy and sports medicine. She will attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in biology.




The
scholarship covers in state tuition and fees for up to 4 years at any
North Carolina public university or community college for high school
students in Asheville City or Buncombe County public schools. To be
eligible for consideration of this scholarship, students must have a
minimum GPA of 2.5 during the last two years of high school.
