Giving Voice to Our Stories

An Oral History Journey with Historian Kelly Elaine Navies
Update: “Giving Voice to Our Stories: An Oral History Journey,” with historian Kelly Elaine Navies, scheduled for Tuesday, April 15th, has been canceled. MHU hopes to reschedule this event in the future.
Says Navies, “As an African American librarian, writer, and oral historian, it is my goal to document and preserve African American history and culture by listening to, recording, and ultimately interpreting the stories of my community through story, poetry, analysis, or reflection.”
“The practice of oral history promotes and encourages intergenerational communication and healing between and amongst individuals, groups, and generations.”
Presentation takes place Tuesday, April 15 at 7 p.m. at the Liston B. Ramsey Center for Regional Studies, Renfro Library, Mars Hill University. For more information visit www.mhu.edu/ramsey-center
