Traditions Acupuncture Foundation has provided Chinese medical care to clients who have been referred via the YWCA, Helpmate, and Our Voice. Our Voice is Asheville’s local nonprofit that serves the needs of those who have been touched by sexual violence. The most common denominator of this group is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Acupuncture and its ability to impact positively on PTSD has been documented through extensive research. Currently, many Veteran’s Administration facilities are using acupuncture for PTSD.

TAF is also working directly with the YWCA, offering treatments to those adults who are enrolled in the Diabetes Wellness Program and New Choices. Diabetes is an illness that can have many concomitant symptoms such as neuropathy, heart disease, peripheral artery disease, and stress. By providing acupuncture to this group, Traditions Acupuncture Foundation, is helping to improve their overall health and reduce the complications that patients experience. In 2010, Dr. M. Cissy Majebe and a group of Ashevillians formed the Traditions Acupuncture Foundation in order to raise funds to offer Chinese medical care for the medically underserved.

Come join the Traditions Acupuncture Foundation as they raise funds to offer Chinese medical care to the medically underserved in Western North Carolina.
