Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court Hosts 19th Graduation
Six veterans completed the intensive, justice-based recovery program.
The Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) recently celebrated its 19th commencement ceremony, honoring six veterans who completed the intensive, justice-based recovery program.

Established in 2015, the VTC provides a therapeutic alternative to incarceration for veterans facing nonviolent charges and struggling with mental health or substance use challenges.
Participants engage in structured treatment, mentorship, and regular court supervision—focusing on accountability, healing, and reintegration. For the graduates, the ceremony symbolizes far more than the conclusion of a program; it marks renewed purpose, lasting recovery, and a reaffirmation that no veteran is left behind.
