A-B Tech’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program is accepting applications for its next class of officers starting in January.
BLET is a program that is required for any law enforcement officer in the state of North Carolina. There is no cost for the training and some agencies pay trainees to attend. Students accepted into the BLET program must be at least 20 years of age.
“We want recruits who want to be part of the change in their communities,” said Marty McNeely, Director of Law Enforcement Training at A-B Tech. “We have excellent equipment and instructors, and we teach how to take care of the whole community, not just certain parts.”
The program lasts four-and-a-half months and teaches communications skills, driver training, control techniques, traffic enforcement, and many other skills.
