Exemplary Passing Rates in Allied Health

A-B Tech’s nursing program graduates are desired by every employer in this region.

Second-year Surgical Technology students at A-B Tech achieved a 100% pass rate on the national certification exam for this year.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

A-B Tech’s Associate Degree Nursing program graduated 86 students with a pass rate of 93%, higher than any other two-year college in the region. Only Western Carolina University had a higher percentage rate with 72 students at 98%. “We are always striving to improve our pass rate, but we are proud of this year’s graduates,” said Nursing Chair Christy Andrews.

“These results are a reflection of the top tier nursing program that Christy Andrews and Nina Kirkpatrick run at A-B Tech,” said Dr. Jon Weiner, Dean of Allied Health. “They run a rigorous and demanding nursing program that turns out graduates desired by every employer in this region. In a conversation I had recently with a manager at a local hospital, they told me that they would only hire A-B Tech nursing grads in the future!”

The Associate Degree Nursing program has also received pre-accreditation status from the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Holding pre-accreditation status does not guarantee that initial accreditation by NLN CNEA will be received.
