A-B Tech Police Chief Kara Walker Receives Patriot Award

Police Lt. Josh Edwards presents Police Chief Kara Walker with a Patriot Award.

A-B Tech Police Chief Kara Walker was presented with a Patriot Award from the NC Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense Office, on October 26, 2018.

Walker was nominated by A-B Tech Police Lt. Josh Edwards, who serves in the NC National Guard’s 105th Military Police Battalion.

The award recognizes employers who make it possible for employees to serve in the National Guard and Reserves, which comprise 53% of the national defense.

A ceremony at A-B Tech was hosted by ESGR volunteer and First Sergeant (Ret.) David Ponder.

A-B Tech President Dennis King and other members of the National Guard also participated in the ceremony.
