AKA Senior Appreciation Day
Graduating seniors from schools throughout Buncombe and Henderson Counties who have demonstrated academic excellence were the honorees of the Senior Appreciation Day hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter on May 31, 2014 at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church.
ZaKiya Bell-Rogers, the chairperson of the scholarship committee, greeted the students at the beginning of the program. Dr. Charlotte Cato, President of Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter, explained the occasion. Sheron Craig, Pamela Jones, Karol Pittman, and ZaKiya Bell-Rogers recognized each honoree. Dorothy Johnson and Barbara James presented plaques to the seniors.
Scholarship recipients were Caleah Hallum, Emagine Montgomery, and Adrian Pomeroy.

Asheville High School – Monique Gaines, Caleah Hallum, Jade Jones, Emagine Montgomery, and Kyshana Sitton
AC Reynolds High School – Roberto Boneque, Svetlana Contreras, Lyric Galloway, Tyrique Harris, Ordashia Hawkins, Jaylin Jackson, Ka-Von Watkins, and Dominique Williams
Clyde Erwin High School – De Angelo Collington, Diamond Hodge, Jaquantea Jackson, India Matthews, and Daree Wynn
TC Roberson High School – Aminat Bashorun, James Devin Foster, Naomi Gilbeaux, Tante Hill, Stanley Jenkins, Tyler McHone, and Dante Scott
Owen High School – Adrian Pomeroy and Michael Pomeroy
Hendersonville High School – Alexander Scott, Nicholas Steele, Nikole Sullivan, and Caleb Williamson
