Downtown Asheville Celebration

Pack Square Park. The free event features The Ultimate Air Dogs, live music, local food and craft beverages, and a fireworks extravaganza.

Eats & Drinks
Food and beverage sales open at 5 p.m. Brews from locals Sierra Nevada, French Broad Brewing, Flat Rock Cider Company, as well as brews from Lagunitas, Sam Adams, Foothills Brewing, and wine from Noble Vines will be available for purchase. Water and other drinks will also be available for purchase.

Day vendors in North Pack Square: Ben and Jerry’s and Sweet Squeeze Lemonade.
Evening Vendors in South Pack Square: Buggy Pops, Paris Festival, Jamaican Flavors, Smasheville, Sunshine Sammies, Tin Can Pizzeria, El Kimchi, Bears BBQ, Funnel King, Kona Ice, and Kernel Mike’s Famous Kettle Corn.

Note: Pets are only allowed in the Air Dogs area and not throughout the rest of the event. This is a City of Asheville ordinance.

Local Events

South Asheville Fireworks: Food trucks and live music throughout the afternoon and into the evening. At Lake Julian on Tuesday, July 4, the fireworks show starts at dark (9-9:30 p.m.). Park at William W. Estes Elementary School across from the lake at 275 Overlook Road. Free. No pets, alcohol, or tobacco products.

Hendersonville: Concert at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at 201 South Main St. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. and launch from South Grove Street. Look for the giant red balloon. If you can see the balloon, you can see the fireworks from your location. Bring chairs and blankets.

Maggie Valley: Backyard Fourth, gates open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, fireworks at dark. Free admission. Alcohol-free. Festival Grounds, 3374 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC.

Kenilworth Neighborhood Parade: Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Kenilworth Presbyterian Church. Meet on the front lawn at Kenilworth Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Prizes will be given to the best-decorated bike, stroller, wagon, adult, kid, and dog! There will also be a chalk drawing contest, music, and refreshments before we take to the streets for a neighborhood parade. Hope to see you there! 123 Kenilworth Rd. in Asheville.

Suave House Party: 2–11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at Eagle’s Market, 10 Eagle Street in Asheville. A cookout party for the 4 of July. Everyone is welcome to come. Bring one or two food or drink items to share.

Summer Sounds Concert Series – Vintage Vinyl: Live music in the taproom, featuring a performance from Vintage Vinyl starting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Bold Rock Hard Cider, Mills River, NC.

4th of July Celebration: An epic 4th of July celebration on Tuesday, July 4 featuring some of Asheville’s brightest stars including Datrian Johnson (Funk You, The Fritz, Family Tree, Saint Disruption), Melissa McKinney (Mama & The Ruckus), André Lassalle (Miles Davis, Robert Irving III, Darryl Jones, John Schofield and many more) + special guests. Music will start early and go late. Shiloh & Gaines, 700 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC.

Regional Activities

Qualla Reservation Powwow: 4th of July Powwow, Friday, June 30 to Sunday, July 2. Dancers from across the country come to Cherokee to compete in Traditional, Jingle, Grass, and Fancy Dancing styles. Native American Tribal dancing, drumming, and ceremonial tribal regalia. Fireworks on Saturday, July 1 from 10 to 11 p.m.

Hot Springs: Fireworks at dark viewed from HS Elementary school. Bed Race at 2 p.m. along Andrew Ave. South. Entertainment, shopping, and food during the day.

Laurel Valley Community Center: Freedom Festival with a 5K race in the morning. Evening: music, food, friends and fireworks at dark.

Marion: Enjoy a downtown parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

Mars Hill: July 4th at the MHU stadium. Fireworks at dark. Daytime activities begin at 3 p.m.

Marshall: July 4th at Fairgrounds. Fireworks at dark after the Rodeo. Entry fee due to Rodeo.

Spring Creek: July 4th at Spring Creek Community Center at dark.
