The Asheville-Buncombe MLK Association will host several special events this month in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s life and work.

Candlelight Service

Sunday, January 15, 2023

The annual Candlelight Service honors area citizens and organizations that have dedicated themselves to the cause of social justice. The service begins at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 60 Church Street in Asheville.

Peace March and Rally

Monday, January 16, 2023

The theme for the event is “Audacious Action During Uncertain Times.” Service begins at 11:30 a.m. at St. James AME Church, 44 Hildebrand Street in Asheville.

The march begins at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard, and ends at Pack Square Park for a rally at 12:30 p.m.

Fish Fry to follow at St. James AME Church.

The annual Prayer Breakfast, held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville, is sold out.
