YMI Hosts Major Taylor Mountains Summit Cyclists’ Forum

The Western North Carolina Diversity Engagement Coalition will host the Major Taylor Mountains Summit (MTMS) on Saturday, April 23, as the cycling organization returns to Asheville.

The group will be on hand at the YMI Cultural Center on Saturday, April 23, 2016 for a community outreach meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Preceeding the meeting, a social hour will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at The Block off Biltmore in the historic corner drugstore in the YMI building.

Major Taylor cycling clubs are made up of cycling enthusiasts who are, mostly, African American men whose mission is to involve black males in the lives of children and youth, as mentors, teachers, and inspirational figures. The Mountain Summit is an annual gathering of members of Major Taylor cycling clubs from around the country who thrill to the challenge of ascending the high peaks of western North Carolina.

The forum is sponsored by WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition. For more information, please contact Dr. Joseph Fox of the Diversity Engagement Coalition at [email protected].
