GreenWorks Father’s Day Fundraiser Tours the Gardens of Biltmore Forest
Asheville GreenWorks’ annual Father’s Day Garden Tour will take place in the Town of Biltmore Forest on Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 1 to 5 p.m. Eight private gardens on the tour, each with its own style and beauty, will delight your senses, while complimentary cookies, lemonade and iced hibiscus elderberry tea (courtesy of Green Sage) will keep you refreshed throughout the tour.
This is your chance to gain access into private gardens that you can stroll to your heart’s content and are sure to inspire. The garden tour helps fund Asheville GreenWorks’ high-impact programs, benefitting communities by keeping Buncombe County clean and green.
The tour will not only highlight the eclectic and beautiful gardens of Biltmore Forest, but spotlight the different native species that attract and sustain our pollinators. Some of the pollinator-friendly species you can expect to find on this tour include: Wild Geranium, Foamflower, Trillium, Bleeding Heart and Bloodroot. For a complete list of Bee City USA recommended plants for the Asheville area, visit http://www.beecityusa.org.
Tour participants will also have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win amazing prizes, including $150 gift certificate from Hunter Banks, a case of beer from Oskar Blues, the extremely popular hand-crafted Bacon Cooker from New Morning Gallery and much more.
The event will start at Carolina Day School, 1345 Hendersonville Road and will take place rain or shine. For info and tickets ($20 in advance, $25 at the door), visit www.ashevillegreenworks.org, call (828) 254.1776 or e-mail [email protected].
