Controlling Invasive Plants

The Western North Carolina Alliance invites the public to join them in removing invasive exotic plants along the Appalachian Trail between Davenport Gap and Waterville Road. Participants should meet at Davenport Gap on Saturday, September 12 at 9:45 a.m. for an invasive plant workshop.
Following the workshop, participants will remove invasive exotic plants. All equipment, tools, and protective equipment will be provided. Carpooling is available, leaving from the Forest Service building in Asheville (160A Zillicoa St.) at 8 a.m. and returning by 5:30 p.m. Volunteers should wear boots, long pants, and long sleeves, and pack lunch and water.
