Transportation Improvement Program Open for Public Comment
The French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization has opened a public comment period for the proposed Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program. Comments on the program can be sent to the MPO by email to [email protected], by U.S. mail to PO Box 7148, Asheville, NC 28802, or delivered in person to the French Broad River MPO offices in room 100-C, Asheville City Hall, 70 Court Plaza, Asheville, NC 28801. The comment period closes Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program, or MTIP, is a schedule of state and federally-funded transportation projects to be carried out during fiscal years 2009-2015. The North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Planning Organization each adopt the transportation improvement program, or TIP, for these projects.
The
proposed MTIP is available for review at www.fbrmpo.org, and at the
FBRMPO offices, Room 100-C, Asheville City Hall. The FBRMPO
Transportation Advisory Committee will consider MTIP adoption and all
comments received during the comment period after a public hearing at
their meeting on September 18, 2008, at 12:10 p.m. at the Land of Sky
Regional Council offices, 339 New Leicester Hwy, Suite 140, Asheville,
NC 28806. The meeting is open to the public.
The
FBRMPO is a regional partnership for transportation planning in the
urbanized areas of Buncombe, Haywood and Henderson Counties. Local
member governments are Buncombe County, Haywood County, Henderson
County, Asheville, Black Mountain, Biltmore Forest, Canton, Clyde, Flat
Rock, Fletcher, Hendersonville, Laurel Park, Maggie Valley, Mills
River, Montreat, Waynesville, Weaverville and Woodfin.
