Asheville Transit to Run Buses to the NC Mountain State Fair
The Asheville Transit System (ATS) will provide public transportation services to the NC Mountain State Fair. “This is a great way for people to experience the fair without having to deal with traffic, parking, or higher gas bills,” said Mariate Echeverry, ATS Interim Transit Manager.
Route #6, which starts
at Main Transit Center in downtown Asheville, has been extended to
service the WNC Agricultural Center for the event. Fare is $1.00 per
person each way. People wishing to ride the #6 can board at any bus
stop along its regular route. Route maps are available at
www.ashevillenc.gov/transit. The time table is as follows: #6 leaves
downtown Asheville at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m.,
2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. #6 returns to downtown Asheville,
from the NC Mountain State Fair, at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m.,
2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. There will be no Sunday
bus service.
