Should I Sell My Home or Stay?

By Sandra Kilgore, GRI, ABR, SFR –

This is a question I am asked at least once a week by many of my baby boomers and maturing clients.

Make no mistake about it, most people tend to find it very difficult to deal with leaving a home after spending many years in it. Oftentimes, the homeowner would prefer to go on living there. While this may generally be a viable option, it is always beneficial to talk to a professional who understands the challenges you may face with this major decision.

As we age, we generally require specialists for our health needs; shouldn’t we also consider our housing and equity needs as well?

Although I have achieved many designations in my 30+ years in real estate, the one I am most proud of is Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES).

The SRES Council is a community of Realtors and related professionals dedicated to serving the real estate needs of the senior community.

My training as a SRES enables me to confidently address the needs, and concerns of the maturing adult when selling, buying, relocating, or refinancing their residential or investment properties. As a SRES, I bring a customized approach to your particular situation with expertise, patience, and a network of solid and reliable referrals to help you through the process.
